Church Banquet at Thomas House RBS

On Wednesday evening, December 14th, we will travel to Red Boiling Springs for our annual Church Banquet. We will meet at 7:00 p.m. sharp for the meal. Try to be there on time so that every one may be seated at that time. If something hinders you I am sure as usual there will be plenty of food and a place to enjoy the fellowship.

We will plan for a party atmosphere, a time for songs of the season, lots of goodies to be given a way and fun for everyone. Make your reservations early and give your money to Reba Patterson or Melissa Graves on the set date. (Dates in Church bulletin)

Christmas Time's a coming

Trees will soon be up and decorations will be everywhere because Christmas is just around the corner.

"Bethlehemtown" luncheon with the kids has been posponed until later due to the many activities scheduled during the holidays.

Look for a spring outing with the little people of the church.

On Thanksgiving Week

Wednesday services during the week of Thanksgiving will convene on Tuesday. This is an annual thing for us due to the ladies having an extra day to plan activities and meals for their families. We invite you to be with us on this night for our classes. You will enjoy the evening with us.

Youth at Powerhouse

We had a good number who left early Friday afternoon for the campgrounds at Hickory Hills for a full weekend together with other youth from across the state. As the van loaded the kids were all filled with excitement to be traveling to the planned activities at Powerhouse. Thanks to all the parents who made time and plans for the kids to go.

Back on the Page

It has been some days since I have taken the time to do any posting on the blog. It appears there are not enough hours in a day to get all done that needs to get done. Just asking for patience and consideration in all matters.

Powerhouse for the youth

The scheduled youth activity in Dickson at Hickory Hills Campground is just two weeks away. If you plan to go you need to plan now. It begins on Friday, 18th and concludes Sunday, 20th.

Men's Ministry Work Day

A work day is scheduled for all men of Lakeside, Saturday 5th, beginning at 8:30 am. The larger the number the quicker all the jobs get done. See you there.

Words to Encourage

It has been stated, God does the impossible, but depends on His Church (you and me) to do the possible. No person has all the answers.

Lakeside reviewingly emphasizing its strengths rather than focusing on its weaknesses is taking a step in the right direction. This is not to imply we do not recognize our weaknesses, but to focus on failures, shortcomings, etc., casts a doubt to God's ability to help. This is not an act of positive thinking or whistling in the dark, but appreciation to God for what strength is present. A church could not exist if it did not have some strengths.

Rather than ask first, "What is our needs; what's our problems?" -the first question should be: What are our strengths given from God? How can these strengths be enlarged to help those hurting in our community and around us? What strengths can be added that we can successfully serve the purpose of God to minister to some specific person?
