Just doing his job

We appreciate the job that our State Overseer is doing to promote the work of the Lord and the progress of the church.

As a member of the Pastoral (Leadership) Team of Tennessee I believe Bishop McKinley has every one of his team members at heart and desires to be a blessing to each of them.

I encourage everyone, minister and member alike, to give him our support and our prayers as we see without a doubt that God is blessing His people and many souls are being saved through all of our ministry efforts.

Let's find ourselves 'Laborer's Together with God'!!!!

ON SUNDAY

On Sunday, October 30th we will all have the privilege to welcome two more regular attenders of our local church into our fellowship. Brother Tommy and Sister Martha Long have expressed their desire to join the church here at Lakeside.

The Longs come to us from the Portland Tennessee area and have been attending Lakeside for approximately a year. They are an asset to the church with Martha helping in the teaching ministry of children and Tommy helpful in visitation, supportive rolls and hands on work being performed at the local level.

We ask God to send us more folks as we overflow our facility.

Special Activity for the 5th

A Children's Day is planned November 5th. for the kids 12 and under at the camp Hickory Hills in Dickson Tn.
Some of the ladies of the church are planning to make the trip with the children.

Supporting The Hope Center

If you would like to contribute monthly or just periodically to the Hope Center or to the Lazarus Project you may do so by asking the church secretary for a form and brochure that you can mail directly to the center.

We appreciate the presentation this past Sunday by Spence Creasy and some of the men in the program. Appreciation to Ron Spears for the message and encouragement during the Sunday service also.

Remember the work of the center and the projects in the making in Murfreesboro in your prayers.

Our Sunday Guest

Ronny Spears from Murfreesboro will be our guest speaker in the a.m. service. He will be giving us insight about the activities of the Hope Center and Lazarus Project that has been very helpful in the ministry of a number of young men who have strayed and become involved in ways unpleasing to God, family and country.

A special time will be given to view a video that has been prepared for the purpose being used as a fund raiser in helping support these activities and young men. If you would like to support you will be given an opportunity following the service to do so. A table will be set up as you leave the building for the support group.

Friday Night Activities

Camping tents set up for sleeping, camp fires burning, hot dogs on the grills, coffee passed around, lawn chairs in circles, kids playing, grownups talking and laughing this was the scene on Friday night October 21st. in the park-like setting behind Lakeside church. I am sure the tents were more empty than full through the night. It seemed that everyone enjoyed the cool weather as they gathered for a fun filled night of activity. Pictures are forthcoming of the night's unexpected experiences, such as Carol Harrison's spill as the swing overturned or someone's surprise when the camera snapped.

Sunday Services

Our services on Sunday, the 16th, were outstanding with great activities that were blessed of the Lord and greatly enjoyed by all attenders of the local church.

Sunday morning we welcomed Barry and Kim High into our fellowship as the newest members at Lakeside. They bring with them Leah and Emma, their children to be a part of our church.

We were blessed to have eight that desired to be baptized in water following the morning service.

We invite you to also come and be a part of our growing church if you do not already have a church home. Let me say, "COME WATCH US GROW"!

Family Campout

Next Friday night, October 21st is the date planned for our camp out. Families will be planning to spend the night under the stars with activities for all family members and lots of great food and plenty of fun. If you plan to attend contact Brother Clint Emmert.

Every attender of Lakeside is invited to come and pitch a tent for the night. You can register your family so that you will know what to bring and get a schedule of the night's and morning's activities.

The grounds will be available for you to come and reserve your tent spot prior to starting time for the evening activities at 6:00 pm.

Watchman's Prayer

A night of prayer is planned for October 21st. This special night is only one week away. It is planned not only for the intercessors but for the entire church family. The beginning time is 9:00 pm in the Family Life Center and will continue throughout the night and morning hours. Each person or prayer group will be given an allotted time to pray.

There are many needs that will be listed including your own that will be considered for the night's activity. You will see Sister Carol Harrison for materials as well as a scheduled time to be in prayer on this special night.

This is not a part of the camp out but those on campus that night will be able to participate in and have a prayer time during the evening or morning to pray.

Great Wednesday Evening Services

It has been said "GOD IS IN THE HOUSE", well this was true for all the services on Wednesday at Lakeside. God was there to bless every one in all the classes this week. Firehouse was a blaze and we thank God for what He is doing among this age group. Those involved, Kevin, Shannon, Lashell and Trina are being blessed as well. See that your kids and youth are there and you as well.

Remembering One Another

I thought I would include this time to encourage each in remembering someone in their thoughts and prayers. We have families and friends that have sickness and are in need of encouraging. Sometimes just a phone call can make someone feel much better. During your devotional time if you could take the church directory and go family by family asking God to bless and prosper each one could prove a great blessing. If you read this blog and would want to be included in a time of prayer just go to the E-mail and let us know. God bless you today.

A Full Week!!!!

On Tuesday we spent the full day traveling and being with the family of William Spears.

On Wednesday preparing for the evening classes. On this night we all experienced a great time. Class time was great with much discussion on interesting topics. The youth at 'Powerhouse' had a wonderful service that took them into the late hour in praise to our wonderful Lord.

On Thursday was a great day of visitation to a number of folks that do not attend our church or as of yet not regular attenders. With warm reception we spent the day inviting and expecting a number of new faces in church.

Today, Friday, begins a day in preparation for a great Sunday. With God directing may many souls find a new Way, new way to live, new way for peace, hope for tomorrow.

Mexico Mission Trip (Update)

Sister Faye and I met in Nashville with the team that had just come back from their trip to Mexico. We also met with a lot of excitment as we sat and talked about their full days of witnessing, giving shoes and toys, and food to the people that they had met that week. Eighteen met together for a wonderful dinner at Red Lobster as we heard that 390 people had received Christ into their lives. Thank you Lakeside and others for all the support and prayers that made this trip possible and for lives being changed.

We think that this could be the beginning of a number of wonderful trips to that area and other areas where people are receptive to the gospel and were needs can be met.

Funeral News

This week Sister Ethel Troutt's brother, William Spears (68 yrs of age) past away after years of battle with heart problems. William attended the church at Bostic Chapel as a young man with his father and mother. He has other distant relatives here at Lakeside Church. I have been ask to preach Williams funeral and will be leaving for Indianapolis, Indiana the first of the week. Would you pray for Sister Troutt, the family, and myself as we travel to be with them during this time.
